Most teachers are hard-working professionals and feel the pressure to work long hours. Society expects teachers to sacrifice and overwork in the name of dedication. In many schools there is a pressure, an unspoken message, that working long hours and doing 'little' extras proves your commitment to students. While dedication in itself is a beautiful way of being, the problems lies in that there is no limit to the amount of work that needs to be done. The possibility of dedication becomes unlimited.

i. "Give 100% of your time to your class"

ii. " Keep a cute and immaculately clean classroom"

iii. " Accept the fact and do not complain about how little salaries are, and apologize for having summers off"

iv. " Pay for all cool classroom materials and buy things for your students"

v. "Do not complain: teaching is an 'easy' job"

vi. " Don't take personal days off because the kids are depending on you, and there's a shortage of sub"

vii. "Solve all student learning and behavior problems"

p/s: Sometimes people do not care about other people's feeling. Try to be a teacher, then tell us it is an easy job.

Teacher's Descriptions of Their Work Experience

1. "Teaching is like a wild and crazy rafting adventure in mega challenging terrain....exhilarating, exiting, strenuous, exhausting, rewarding, and unpredictable, very up and down. One minute you are laughing and smiling, the next crying. But it's a rafting adventure for the huge cause of making a difference in the lives of others"

2. " To be a teacher, you need to be able to have your eyes open, ears open, arms open, mind open, and heart open all the time."

3. "Teaching is quite a job! You are in charge of your own good time!"

4. "Teaching children is like building a beautiful house...many tools are used, materials are needed, time is invested, and it is a labor of love."

5. "Teaching is like holding the future in my hands."

6. "Teaching can be a mini-adventure, almost every day."

7. "Teaching is a box of chocolates. Each day is a surprise. You never know what you are going to get."

Tahun 2011 merupakan tahun yang dianggap mencabar kepada saya kerana banyak perkara yang saya mahu tahun 2010 tidak tercapai. Tahun ni juga merupakan tahun akhir untuk saya habiskan master saya. So, wish me luck.....
